Elgin County winery Rush Creek Wines has been voted Lake Erie Living Magazine’s "2012 Best of Lake Erie" in the Specialty Wines category.
Readers, editors and writers of the magazine were encouraged to vote for the best wineries along Lake Erie on both the Canadian and American sides and Rush Creek Wines was chosen as the winner out of hundreds of locations.
Owners Kim and Wendy Flintoft opened the winery on Jamestown Line in 1996 and their unique varieties of fruit wine have been delighting visitors for nearly two decades. Rockin’ Raspberry and Strawberry Chocolate Decadence are two of Rush Creek’s most popular flavours.
"Kim and I are honoured to be recognized on both the Canadian and American sides of Lake Erie," said owner Wendy Flintoft. "We have worked very hard to create a quality winery and a place you can bring your family and enjoy a great experience."
The winery is open Monday to Saturday and features a corn maze, a Bruschetta bar, and a picnic area where guests can use an on-site BBQ to prepare their lunch. The winery is also home to an English garden where visitors can sit back and relax with a glass of wine.
